Remedy dosing the easy way!
Using Homeopathic remedies is a fairly straight forward process. There are all sorts of theories and "rules" about what you should and shouldn't do, but as a Homeopath for over a decade, and as someone who has used homeopathic remedies for many years prior to that, let me help bust some myths for you and make this process as simple as possible!
Firstly, size is irrelevant when giving homeopathic remedies. Regardless whether it's for a newborn baby or a grown adult, a puppy or a fully grown Great Dane - one dose is the same (one or two pellets of a dry remedy, or one or two drops of a liquid remedy).
How often to give the remedy depends on the severity of symptoms.
Acute
For an Acute situation (such as an injury, or sore throat), my general guideline is to give a 30c dose (one or two pellets or one or two drops) every four hours for up to four doses, and if there's no improvement after that time, then change the remedy. It's important to stop taking the remedy once symptoms improve.
If there is a high fever or the Acute is of an urgent nature (such as severe bruising, bleeding etc), you can use a higher potency such as a 200c. The higher potency is matched to the greater need of the patient.
The remedies work with the body, not against it, once the body is showing improvement, there's no need to keep taking the remedy. (Unless the symptoms return).
Chronic
I don't recommend self treating chronic issues see my blog explaining the difference between Acute and Chronic issues
It's important to store the remedies away from sunlight, away from strong odors, and away from EMF high areas such as near modems, microwaves etc. It's preferable to avoid handling the pillules too much if you can, as the pillules are infused with the remedy and if hands are dirty or have strong soaps, lotions etc on them, it may interfere with the purity of the remedy. But if your hands are clean and you're only touching the remedy briefly, it will still work.
